6 Ways To Do Good Business This Holiday Season

| Posted in Bank Blogs

The holiday season can be a merry and very lucrative time for many businesses. It's also an ideal time to enjoy the true spirit and warmth of the season by giving back and helping others. Here are some ways you can do "good" business this holiday season:

  1. Contribute to a nonprofit.  Nonprofit organizations are the unsung heroes of our communities, working tirelessly to improve the lives of others despite having strained budgets and limited resources. A charitable contribution from your company can help them secure the funding they need to carry out their important missions.
  2. Send in the volunteers. With increased demand for services around the holidays, nonprofits, such as food pantries or homeless shelters, may also need helping hands. Consider sending a team of employees to help out. It will not only make a difference to the nonprofit but also build camaraderie in your organization.
  3. Have a donation drive. Share the joy of giving with your employees and customers. Invite them to join you and donate gifts to help those in need. You could collect toys for children, food for the hungry, or clothing for the homeless.
  4. Send care packages to the military. The holidays can be a lonely time for those serving in the military. You can work with organizations to help send holiday gifts and goodies overseas.
  5. Celebrate your employees. Your employees are the lifeblood of your organization. You can show them your appreciation by giving them a holiday bonus or gift or having an employee appreciation luncheon. If money is not in your budget, offer them a bonus vacation or personal day.
  6. Show thanks to your customers. Send your customers holiday cards and offer a special holiday gift or discount to thank them for their business.

The holiday season isn’t just a great time to build your business; it’s also the perfect time to build community by helping give back and make a difference in the lives of others. That’s “good” business.
